It took up to 1 gallon of oil to produce each of these 400 million cartridges, and it could take up to 1,000 years for each one of them to decompose. By failing to recycle our empty printer cartridges we are promoting an unnecessary use of natural resources as well as creating pollution through the uncontrolled decay of plastics in landfills. Rather than throwing your empty printer cartridges in the trash, use the RENEW cartridge recycling mailer to recycle and reuse.

How Does It Work?

You purchase a RENEW cartridge recycling mailer from a group or organization in your area that you wish to support. If you can't get them from anyone in your area, you can purchase them online, but make sure to select a group or organization you want to get credit for your purchase. A portion of the sale price of each mailer is given to the organization you choose.

Once you have your RENEW mailer, simply follow the included step by step instructions for preparing and mailing your empty cartridge. Once you have placed your empty cartridge in the mailer box and attached the free postage paid label you simply drop the mailer in any mail box, or give it to a mail carrier.

When your empty cartridge is received at our warehouse we will inspect the cartridge before sending you the equivalent RENEWED and ready to use cartridge in return*. You can expect to receive a RENEWED cartridge in the mail within 6-10 days from the day you mail your empty.

Cartridges that cannot be recycled for reuse can be ground and used to create building materials, automobile parts, playground equipment, sports fields/courts, and many other items we use in our daily lives.

*RENEW empty cartridge recycling works on an exchange system. A recyclable cartridge must be received before its equivalent can be sent. A cartridge that is deemed damaged due to user mishandling will not be exchanged.
